Intel has announced the launch of a new enterprise-focused generative AI software company called GenAI Technologies. The company, which is a spin-out of Intel’s AI Lab, aims to provide end-to-end solutions for businesses to leverage the power of generative AI models.
GenAI Technologies will offer a suite of products and services that enable enterprises to create, deploy, and manage generative AI applications across various domains, such as content creation, data augmentation, personalization, and optimization. The company will also provide consulting, training, and support for customers to adopt and scale generative AI in their workflows.
According to Intel, generative AI is a game-changing technology that can unlock new levels of productivity, creativity, and innovation for enterprises. Generative AI models can learn from data and generate novel outputs, such as images, text, audio, or video, that are relevant, realistic, and diverse. This can help businesses solve complex problems, enhance customer experiences, and generate new value.
Intel’s AI Lab has been a pioneer in the field of generative AI, developing and open-sourcing several state-of-the-art models, such as BigGAN, StyleGAN, and WaveGAN. The lab has also collaborated with leading academic and industry partners, such as MIT, Stanford, and Adobe, to advance the research and applications of generative AI.
GenAI Technologies will leverage Intel’s expertise, resources, and network to deliver cutting-edge generative AI solutions to the enterprise market. The company will also continue to contribute to the open-source community and foster collaboration with other generative AI innovators.
The new company will be led by Dr. Jason Knight, who was previously the director of Intel’s AI Lab and a co-founder of Nervana Systems, a deep learning startup that Intel acquired in 2016. Dr. Knight said that he is excited to lead GenAI Technologies and help enterprises harness the potential of generative AI.
“Generative AI is the next frontier of artificial intelligence, and we believe it will transform every industry and domain. With GenAI Technologies, we are bringing the best of Intel’s AI research and innovation to the enterprise market, and empowering businesses to create, deploy, and manage generative AI applications at scale. We are thrilled to embark on this journey and make generative AI accessible and impactful for enterprises around the world,” Dr. Knight said.
GenAI Technologies will operate as an independent entity, with Intel as its majority shareholder and strategic partner. The company will be based in San Francisco, California, and will have offices in New York, London, and Bangalore. The company will launch its website and products in the first quarter of 2024.
